SALENTA + TOPU
Salenta De Badisdenne and Topu Lyo have created an incredibly empathic and warm album together: Moon Set, Moon Rise. The 17 songs on this album are patient, exploratory, and dynamic. The keys tiptoe through space at some moments, and pirouette ecstatically at others. The cello provides a sonic backbone that glows like amber. The music evokes vignettes of home, falling asleep with someone you love, learning to soothe yourself. It transports the listener to another time through its dusty, sunlit and grainy recording style, while simultaneously connecting us to the present. A sort of ordinary magic, the best kind.

AMINA HOCINE
Amina Hocine is a composer and artist who just finished her masters in electroacoustic composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Her studies led her to build an incredible instrument: built out of PVC-pipes, various HVAC components and 3D printed parts, connected to an air compressor. At the last Edition Festival for Other Music in Stockholm in February, we were so lucky to experience the profound and mind-blowing timbre of The Instrument. Amina writes: "The journey with the instrument started with a love and fascination for foghorns and signal horns but it has evolved to something much more. The Instrument is a way to spend time with airflow and to create synthesis without any computer or synthesizer. The pipes make a sound that can go from what sounds like a triangle wave to a sinus wave and a clear spectrum of harmonic overtones that change depending on where you stand in relation to the instrument. The work with The Instrument is continuous and ever evolving." We are thrilled to have Amina in Oslo in September!
